THROUGH THE TUTELAGE of sculptor/instructor Evangelos Frudakis, she learned to see the human form, she is influenced by the Hellenistic and Renaissance periods, but more so by the influence of her friend and self-effacing mentor of nearly thirty years, the late Paul Cadmus. The incredible impact of his sculptural drawings, have had the most important impact upon her work. She owes him a great measure of her continued attempts
as a sculptor/artist to his influence and encouragement.
Philis studied in several Schools of Art in NY and Connecticut area, exhibited in more than a dozen shows including National Sculpture Society, National Academy of Design School of Fine Art, National Arts Club National Art League, just to name a few, she has been a recipient of numerous grants as well as specific art commissions.
