Professor Santiago (Santi) Echeverry, AKA Santiago Echeverry Campos, 43, born in Bogota, Colombia and formerly from New York City, and native Floridian Michael (Mike) Scott Snyder, 54, who met seven years ago, came from Tampa, Florida, where they reside, to marry at the Office of the New York City Clerk, at the Municipal Building in downtown Brooklyn, on November 26.
Deputy City Clerk Marie R. Lennon performed the civil ceremony, which was witnessed by a veritable United Nations of friends, Gustavo Braga from Brazil, Rachel Gibbs from Barbados and spouse Scott Treude, and this writer and spouse Joseph Saporito, grandsons of Eastern and Western European immigrants respectively.
Afterwards, the wedding party repaired to Junior’s Restaurant & Bakery, on Flatbush Avenue, for a champagne toast and scrumptious lunch, courtesy of the newly-married couple.
