On June 10, New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn hosted her annual Celebration of LGBT Pride at Cooper Union. The Emcee, fresh from his Tony Award win for writing the book for "Kinky Boots," was Harvey Fierstein! Honorees included New York State Senator Thomas K. Duane, Madeline Mardiks, GMHC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Majorie J. Hill, Judson Taylor, and Katherine Tabares. Regardless of the honorees' age and experience, the one thing that all of them had in common was their fight for LGBT visibility and the fight for equality.
