Winter Heat, on March 15, was Empire State Pride Agenda's annual winter party for women, which meant 400 women for a fun night of socializing, dancing and cocktails, at the Marquee Nightclub on 10th Avenue at 27th Street.
When they say 400 women, they actually meant 450. There was a sponsor event from 7 to 8 p.m., they were open for the big Kahuna from 8 on, with open bar, Christine Quinn announcing her wedding date, Sue Wicks and her partner Camille showing up with their corsages on ... good crowd, fun music and a great party. Once again, we had a great time. You should have been there.
The Empire State Pride Agenda (ESPA) is New York's statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights and advocacy organization. Its mission is to win equality and justice for LGBT New Yorkers and our families. We recognize that while significant cultural, legal and governmental advances have led to greater equality for LGBT New Yorkers, we and our families remain highly vulnerable without the vast majority of rights and protections that most New Yorkers take for granted.
Through its education, organizing and advocacy programs, ESPA works toward creating a broadly diverse alliance of LGBT people and our allies in government, communities of faith, labor, all sectors of the workforce and other social justice movements to achieve equality for LGBT New Yorkers and the broader goals of social, racial and economic justice.
