On August 6, at the Sanctuary Studios LAX, in Los Angeles, International Mr. and Ms. Olympus Leather 2010 Utah Rox and Christiana stepped down as current titleholders and presented sashes, medallions, and shields to successors Master Tallen, Mr. Great Plains Olympus Leather, and Sir Kira, Ms. Central Canada Olympus Leather, the new Mr. and Ms. International Olympus Leather 2011. Runners-up were Sir Jason and girl katt and, Mr. and Ms. Great Lakes Olympus Leather. Other contenders were Mistress Melissa, Mr. and Ms. Rocky Mountain Olympus Leather Amadio Saveur and Stacey, and Mr. and Ms. Southeast Olympus Leather Country and Noel.
Dr. Lawrence “Dr. Larry” Burden, of Avatar Club and Los Angeles Leather Coalition, headed a panel of judges made up of Utah Rox, Christiana, Northwest Leather Celebration Producer Margaret Anderson, International Mr. Leather 2010 Tyler McCormick, Southern California Leather Woman 2010 Mistress Serene, and American Leatherman 2010 Louie Pacheco Saenz. Mr. CSW Leather 2007 Tom Wang served as tally master and Loren Berthelson, Editor-in-Chief of Leather news and events site Leatherati.com, was MC of the contest.
To the tune of Rihanna’s “S & M,” Sir Kira, self-identified as Black, Irish, and mother of three, enacted a memorable fantasy, with her partner, in which smoke detector, phone call from mother, Fed Ex delivery, and crying baby, in turn, frustratingly interrupted their hot scene. Maintaining that security, love, honor and respect bind the B/D-S/M community together, Sir Kira proudly asserted “I’m tough … I fought my way up here … I’m ready to defend anybody’s right to be who they are.”
Master Tallen offered a tender scene with his nude boy “puppy,” who licked his boots while his Master read the Leather Journal, until the Master finally called, “Here, boy” and cuddled his faithful charge. During the q & a, Master Tallen declared that he would unite the disparate parts of the community “by reaching out to everyone I can and letting them know it’s okay to be you, it’s okay to be me, it’s okay to be us.”
David Rhodes and Mistress Cyan co-produced the event. Michael Klyn and Nicholas Lugo interpreted the proceedings in American Sign Language.
