The outrageous Boys of BEARlesque—who are, as their name suggests, cubs, or boy bears, who dance in their often glitzy scanties to great acclaim, not only to entertain, but also to raise funds for worthy causes—will perform their new show, “The Seven Deadly Sinister Bears,” at the Stonewall Inn for the benefit of the Ali Forney Center, which helps LGBT homeless youth.
In their newest show, their 11th at Stonewall, the Boys, directed and choreographed and with arrangements by JD Leggett, Mr. International Bear 2010 and Mr. Metroclub 2009, will, they’ve announced, celebrate the “seven Deadly Sins that us bears love to commit: Pride, Envy, Sloth, Wrath, Greed, Gluttony and our favorite: LUST!!!!!!!” Shows at Stonewall, at 53 Christopher Street, just northeast of Seventh Avenue, take place on March 12 at 7 p.m. and 14 at 9 p.m., and admission is $10 plus a two-drink minimum. Your hand stamp at the latter show gets you a free shot at Rockbar, up the street at Christopher and Weehauken.
Queen of the Bears Sparkle hosts “The Seven Deadly Sinister Bears,” which features JD, Mr. Metrobear New York 2011 Sunshine, and Mr. International Grizzly 2010 George Hains, as well as Jay and François. Mr. Metrocub 2011 Heriberto will be working the door. The Boys’ special guests are, on the 12th, Witti Repartee, from the Imperial Court of New York, and on the 14th, Muscle Cub Jed Ryan.
Next stop for Boys of BEARlesque is Hollywood, no less, for their much anticipated appearance on “America’s Got Talent.” Catch them at Stonewall this month and you can say you knew them when!
