On October 18, the New York City Anti-Violence Project held its 14th annual Courage Awards ceremony at the Prince George Ballroom on East 27th Street.
Awards were presented by BD Wong, of “Law & Order,” to the Paul Rapoport Foundation, journalist and author Duncan Osborne, and Village Voice staff writer Steven Thrasher. Special remarks were made by hate violence survivor Jessie Estrella.
Other attendees included New York State (NYS) Governor David A. Paterson, NYS Senator from Manhattan Thomas K. Duane, journalists Andy Humm and Paul Schindler, Honorary Chair (among other things) Matt Foreman, and many former AVP Executive Directors.
It was an evening of good food and a great diversity of good looking men and women.
