On November 13, Mid-Atlantic Leather Woman 2009 Cowboi Jen, Producer of Philadelphia's first-ever Leather Pride Night (www.plpn.org), at the Voyeur Club on November 7, and PLPN Director of Operations Wendy announced details of the distribution of the $10,698 raised for the three beneficiaries of the charity event.
The Leather Archives and Museum, based in Chicago, dedicated to "the compilation, preservation and maintenance of leather lifestyle and related lifestyles history, archives and memorabilia for historical, educational and research purposes," and represented at PLPN by its Executive Director Rick Storer, who hosted an Archives Road Show there, will receive $8,755 raised from the sale of tickets to PLPN and from the live auction conducted by Jo Arnone.
The Leather Heart Foundation, based in Philadelphia, directed by Cowboi Jen, Lord Brick, and Master Steve, among others, and providing "financial assistance to members of the community during periods of unusual hardship," caused by "uninsured health expenses, loss of employment, accident or illness" or other emergency circumstances, will receive $1,348 from the proceeds of the silent auction, which was run by current Northeast Master/slave couple Master Steve and slave tami.
By the Grace of George, founded by Jo Arnone to assist in the feeding of companion animals, received $595 from the sale of raffle tickets.
More than 200 people attended PLPN 2009 and there were, in addition, more than 70 volunteers. The tentative date for PLPN 2010 is November 6.
