The LGBT Community Center's Dance:208 on October 31, coordinated by Joe Fiore, was billed as a "Halloween Extravaganza" and it felt, indeed, like the right, festive place to be on Halloween Night. The Imperial Court of New York and MetroBears New York hosted and DJs Gustavo and Rich King, of the SNAXX parties, kept us dancing all night.
There were pharaohs, Spanish señoritas, Emperors, Empresses, and Queens, and bears, oh my! The reigning and future Empresses, Anne Tique, as the Mona Lisa, and Farrah Moans, were there. There were handsome devils aplenty and not three, but five pigs in hospital gowns, who explained that they'd come as the swine flu. Red-hot sexy dancers Torez and Jase kept us royally entertained.
The climax of this extravaganza was a costume contest, hosted by Clover Honey, with Emperor Ron, Empress Anne Tique, Mr. MetroCub J.D., and Torez as the celebrity judges. Of contestants Hot Leatherman, Edward Scissorhands, Frank N. Furter, Frankenstein and the Wolfman (party-giver Paul Short), Red Devil (Mr. Fire Island Leather 2006 Master Tom), and Scarecrow and Captain Hook (Ricky Yates), Frankenstein and Wolfman and Red Devil were the finalists, and Red Devil, declared the top winner.
Anticipate the semiannual "Fur Ball," on November 15, as Center Dance:208's next extravaganza.
