On March 24, the Imperial Court of New York announced that it had raised more than $275,000 for LIFEbeat: the Music Industry Fights AIDS and MCCNY Homeless Youth Services (Sylvia's Place), the beneficiaries of its gala ball, Night of a Thousand Gowns, which more than 700 attended, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel on March 21.

Also, from a fundraising effort in progress, added to on that night-the auction of a notorious dress that has passed from owner to owner--$3,000 was raised for the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Next year's Night of a Thousand Gowns will be held at the Marriott on March 27, 2010.
