Soprano, Marie’s Crisis cocktail wait person, Imperial Court of New York member, Albert Walsh AKA La Diva passed away on December 30. Always cutting a memorable figure, whether taking a break from cocktailing to sing a coloratura aria, participating in a benefit for the Imperial Court, or appearing in a staged play, La Diva threw heart, soul, and voice into the likes of a highly ornamented “Wunderbar,” from “Kiss Me Kate,” and “Sempre libera,” from “La Traviata,” punctuated by smashing a champagne flute into the fireplace at Marie’s and crossing herself hopefully before tackling the final high note. It’s a sad loss of a very dear person.
