On September 16, 2015, supporters and guests gathered at the Broad Street Ballroom for the New York City Anti-Violence Project’s (AVP) 19th Annual Courage Awards. The AVP Courage Awards were created to honor outstanding individuals, organizations, and corporations whose work on behalf of our communities has made a profound impact on all of our lives. Phil Donahue was one of several honorees. This was not a sit-down dinner, which was a nice change. The food was scrumptious and the Ballroom itself, lovely. Good luck to Beverly Tillery, the new Executive Director, taking over for Sharon Stapel, who is heading to new green pastures. Actually, good luck to both of them, and thank you, Sharon, for your outstanding tenure at AVP.
